ADVANCED OPEN WATER CERTIFICATION

Anilao PADI Open Water training Program About Advanced Open Water Certification

You have completed an open water certification; you have been diving; and frankly, you're pretty good at it. Congratulations! You are ready to take the next step in your diving career. Dive organizations offer a variety of advanced, or second-level scuba diving certifications. Some advanced courses simply introduce divers to new underwater activities, while other courses are more rigorous and include a variety of rescue and guiding skills. Here is a guide to help certified divers advance their diving skills with one of the most popular scuba diving organization: PADI.

PADI Advanced Open Water Diver
• PADI: The Professional Association of Dive Instructors

• Prerequisites: PADI Open Water Certification (or equivalent from another organization)

• Minimum age: 15 years old (12 years old for the Junior Advanced Open Water Diver)

• Number of dives: 5 dives over a minimum of 2 days

• Course philosophy: The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course introduces certified open water divers to different diving environments and activities beyond the open water level. This is designed as a fun course to keep divers interested in diving, and to help them explore different areas of specialization.

• Details: The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course requires a deep dive and a navigation practice dive. Student divers choose three more dives experiences from a list including night diving, wreck diving, peak performance buoyancy, diver propulsion vehicles, underwater photography, etc. Divers must purchase the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Manual for independent study, or enroll in the PADI E-Learning Advanced Open Water Diver Course online.Anilao Diving Underwater Photography |Dive Resort,Dive Package.

Most Popular Dive sites

MAINIT POINT (ANILAO SECRET BAY)

Mainit, Tagalog for "hot", is a world-famous dive site near Anilao that is literally hot along the shore, with warm springs found just offshore. Underwater macro photographers love to explore Mainit for the wide variety of undersea life that flourishes there. This is definitely one of the prime places for MUCK DIVING!.

Other quality muck dive sites are Anilao Pier, Basura and Balanoi Secret Garden.

ANILAO TWIN ROCKS

'Twin Rocks' is one of the best, and most popular, recreational diving sites in Anilao. It is a marine sanctuary where wildlife flourishes. So-called because of two parallel sets of rock formation at a depth of 5-18m/15-60 feet), Twin Rocks is one of the busiest dive sites in Anilao. It is most often requested by both beginning and experienced open water divers who love shallow dives and healthy, vibrant reefs. A wide variety of Giant Clams, Surgeonfish, Batfish and schools of Jack are commonplace.

SOMBRERO ISLAND, BEATRIZE ROCK, SEPOC WALL AND KIRBYS ROCK

These dive sites are all located roughly 15 minutes by boat from the Anilao resorts. They are popular reefs and hideouts for underwater photographers. Each of these dive sites are very healthy and contain lots of soft and hard corals found on gentle, broad slopes that give way to sudden, steep drop-offs. Excellent for wide-angle underwater photography.
